Laura Angelini is an interior designer and friend of ours who relocated full-time to the Hudson Valley 10 years ago. Her work is inspired by the natural beauty of the local landscape, “I really love working with the Hudson Valley’s many gifted artisans, and incorporating natural materials into each project,” Laura said. Laura’s work over the last 25 years has included projects with leading NYC architects including Gensler & John Saladino.
Whether designing interiors for a mountainto monastery, a 25,000-square foot home of a coffee mogul, or a tiny cottage, Laura strives to create spaces that are peaceful, beautiful & life enhancing. “For me, it is essential that our living spaces lift our spirits. Good design steeped in serenity enhances our general well being. Keeping things simple in our homes has a huge positive impact on our lives. In every design decision, I always consider how it will make my clients’ everyday life easier & more inspiring.”
For Laura, it’s the details and subtleties that make spaces special. “I love natural materials, wood, stone & luxurious textures. I always think about my client’s interests. The most nurturing spaces are the most personal. We should surround ourselves with things that make us happy,” Laura said. As Philip Johnson said “All architecture is shelter, all great architecture is the design of space that contains, cuddles, exalts, or stimulates the persons in that space.”
