A staple of the local community for several years, Kingston Wine Co. embodies the spirit of life in the Hudson Valley. We always enjoy sampling their creations during Hudson Woods events, you may have caught them at our Summer Launch Party and then again at our Autumn Gathering. You may have also seen them at Field + Supply.
Founded by Michael and Theresa Drapkin, their mission is to make wines with a focus around the kitchen table, bringing people together in the process while intertwining worlds old and new. Located in the historic Rondout district, Theresa has created warm, inviting experiences with distinctive identity for their shop and tasting room, drawing on her M.F.A. experience in Design at Pratt Institute.
Michael draws on his time spent in Southern France as part of an externship and a decade of wine experience including time at Vestry Wines in Tribeca and Balthazar. He enjoys utilizing time-honored, historically rich techniques, achieving an authentic expression of place, history and culture.
Rigorously employing a simple but fundamental philosophy based around 5 principals - Agriculture, Historic Normalcy, Context, Collaboration and Beauty - Kingston Wine Co. is able to draw from the local community to craft affordable esoteric wine known little beyond where it is grown. You can learn much more about this philosophy on their website.
Staying true to their mission of connecting people, KWCo. participates in a series of gatherings throughout the year and offers a daily in-house tasting selection, featuring several wines per week. You can catch them this Saturday at FIRST SATURDAY Art Walk.
