Repurposing Found Bluestone

As construction at Hudson Woods progresses, with foundations being poured at lots 14 & 19, we would like to convey some compelling facts about our site work. Our land use strategy includes utilizing raw materials from the property to create finished products. Gravel used to construct roads and driveways at Hudson Woods is being made from stone on the property. The stone is mined as a byproduct of excavation work already taking place for our house foundations and storm water retention ponds.

Only 12 miles from the Hudson Woods property, Saunderskill Farms is, according to many documents the second oldest farm operating in the country. Still in the hands of the original family, the Schoonmakers, the farm dates back to over 300 years when Peter Stuyvesant himself granted 300 acres of land to Lieutenant Hendrik J Schoonmaker as a payment for military service.

We love Miss Moss's recent find, Saana ja Olli. Their textiles are striking and the imagery showcasing them below has just what we love: relaxation in nature. These patterns were made by a couple who own their own textile design company based out of Turku, Finland. Their products are sourced locally and manufactured.
